Charlie Mason has just released a Player's Guide for OSRIC.

I've grabbed a copy and it's a great price for a book that's very similar to
the standand PHBs.

Nice! The one time I tried using OSRIC as my game instead of AD&D a
couple of the players used the NPC ability score bonuses for class/race
in addition to the normal PC generation method which resulted in some
very high scores. That's not necessarily bad by itself, but when only
half the players do it creates a bit of disparity (not that that doesn't
happen often with the normal method anyway.)

Having a separate Player's guide will fix that confusion if I ever go
that route again.

hmm, maybe I finally should buy myself OSRIC. Lately I did ponder it
again when I was on Lulu, but I got myself Dark Dungeons instead. I
wonder why. The matter of the fact is I do have enough rulebooks to
play, and I have my own set of houserules I work on. Why do I keep
buying them?

English speakers can just use the OSRIC wiki.
German speakers can always use the Alrik wiki.

Ooh, nice. Last time I was looking into OSRIC the wiki was dead.

Thanks!

Yeah, I don't think it gets any support from the actual OSRIC authors
and with the new edition of OSRIC in the works I doubt that the wiki
will get updated anytime soon. We'd have to ask PresGas, I guess.

oh sure, but in this case it was all about owning the thing. it's not
like I need it. I have the AD&D 1st ed books I need (well, except the
Fiend Folio).
